It depends. Unfortunately, proxying images is not very easy because StackOverflow doesn't provide a centralized image hosting service. If images were to be proxied, the proxy endpoint would have to be open to anyone, and that could open the door to potential abuse.
However, if you would like to prevent all third-party image connections, you can use the image toggle to block all automatic loading.
NOTE 2023/2/2: A solution has been found and will be implemented soon.
As of version 1.5, all images are securely proxied through the instance. Third-parties will only see the instance's server requesting images, not you.
